Launch of the Belgian Plastic Pollution Research Community
At the beginning of March 2026, new Belgian Plastic Pollution Research Community has officially launched, bringing together researchers from universities, research institutes, and industry partners across the country. The initiative aims to strengthen collaboration, accelerate knowledge exchange, and create a dynamic network that supports innovative, cross‑disciplinary research.
Community platform
Designed as an open and inclusive platform, the community will offer members a place to connect with each other. The complexity of the Plastic Pollution research field, requires an interdisciplinary approach. By fostering closer connections between researchers in Flanders, Wallonia, and Brussels, the network hopes to spark new ideas and build a stronger, more integrated research landscape in Belgium.
But meaningful collaboration doesn’t just happen on its own—it requires active engagement. That’s why the community encourages every member to reach out, start conversations, and interact with fellow researchers.
